Very rare 1964 Studebaker Champ 8E12 (3/4 ton) pickup truck with 65,000 original miles.

It has a 210bhp 289ci V8, three on the tree with overdrive, 4.88 Dana 60 with positraction, factory air conditioning, am radio, clock, and factory sliding rear window (Studebaker invented the sliding rear window). After some adjustments to the overdrive linkage and cleaning the connections, we have the overdrive working properly. Shift linkage is very tight like a low mileage truck should be. This truck runs and drives amazing and everything works.

 

They are rare, all 1964 Studebakers are left over 63s, they only made 829 1964 trucks. The paint is old enough that it isn’t hiding anything and the patina makes it look original. It still has the spare tire under the bed still. The Studebaker club told me only 185 1964 3/4 tons were produced and 80% had 6 cylinders. So 37 V8 trucks were made.

 

Just test drove it after repairing the overdrive, rebuilding carb, fixing the linkage so it gets full throttle. It works great and cruises at 60mph at 2300 rpms. Surprisingly powerful for a 289ci engine.
