1974 Ford F250 Ranger XLT Camper Special with 390ci V8 and automatic
We just bought this nice survivor out of California, it’s a very nice truck with aluminium Alcoa wheels.
It’s a 1974 f250 Ranger XLT Camper Special that was originally bought by a couple in California city. They had a slide in camper and used it regularly to go camping.
Around the early 2000s it was bought by another couple in Llano California where it served out it’s time as a around town truck to get lumber and groceries. Around 2019 the owners had medical issues and the truck was no longer used.
Being a California desert truck the radiator was upgraded to prevent overheating in the hot summers.
It’s cold blooded in the mornings but will fire right up. After it warms up it runs like a champ And shifts smooth. It does have a little exhaust leak on #4 manifold.
It’s a dry California desert truck. Cab mounts, dog ears, floors and roof the typical places where rust starts are dry as can be. Here in the desert the bodies are well preserved the issue is the interiors here take a beating from the high heats. This interior is in great shape the worst is the dash has some cracks but can be easily replaced or covered with a dash pad.
